Our compressor valve steel is used in refrigeration and freezer compressors, heat pumps and air conditioning systems. The Hardened and tempered steel strips manufactured by Hard Strips (India) are extremely useful in the Flapper Valves due to their bending and impact fatigue strength. The Impact fatigue properties are important as during the compressor’s lifetime the flapper valve, that controls the gas flow in the compressor is subjected to bending stresses when it opens, and impact stresses when it closes and hits the valve seat multiple times. Our steel strips have a consistent tensile strength that is optimized to provide maximum fatigue strength.
The fatigue strength as a function of the tensile strength
Our flapper valve steels are characterized by following attributes:
1) Excellent fatigue strength.
2) Smooth surface finish and edges.
3) Excellent flatness.
4) Tight dimensional tolerances.
5) Good blanking properties.
6) High tensile strength.
7) Constant and homogeneous microstructure.
Our Compressor Valve steel is Hardened & Tempered to a fine martensitic structure. For best performance we recommend 1% carbon steel, i.e. C-98 grade. Although, we offer the following steel qualities for manufacturing compressor valve steel:
